It is suggested or desired that candidates should have passed the 10th standard or secondary school certificate from a recognized board or equivalent. However, the Yoga Institutions can define their own eligibility criteria.
Certified Yoga Protocol Instructors can teach the basics of Yoga and the common Yoga protocol developed by the Ministry of AYUSH for the International Day of Yoga. They are trained to promote health, prevent diseases, and can conduct Yoga practice/classes in various settings such as parks, societies, and residential welfare associations (RWA).
No, there is no age limit to become a Yoga Protocol Instructor.
The job requires individuals to have good communication skills, time management skills, and the ability to understand the body language of the trainees. Key qualities such as self-discipline, confidence, maturity, patience, compassion, active listening, time management, empathy, and language proficiency are desired.
A total of 12 credits are required to obtain the Yoga Protocol Instructor certificate.
The duration of the course is not less than 200 hours or not less than 3 months as a part-time course, or not less than 1 month as a full-time course.
The total marks for the certification are 200, with 60 marks allocated to theory and 140 marks allocated to practical components.
The theory section covers topics such as Introduction to Yoga and Yogic Practices, Introduction to Yoga Texts, and Yoga for Health Promotion.
